Christian Robertson – CEO

Christian is CEO and one of the founders of Datasynthesis. A serial entrepreneur with multiple successful liquidity events, Christian’s career in finance spans more than 30 years with the past two decades spent building fintech solutions. He earned a BA from McGill University and an MBA from HEC. He began his career in private banking with Julius Baer before moving to investment banks Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch. In 2005, he co-founded Paladyne, the first private cloud-based solution for the hedge fund industry, used by the top 200 hedge funds, fund administrators and prime brokers. In 2011, Paladyne was acquired by Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:BR) for over US$75 million.

 

Vlad Agranov – CTO

Vlad leads product and technology design for Datasynthesis. Vlad has extensive knowledge of data management technology in financial markets. This was gained through many years of experience of successfully applying this technology to data operations, data governance and data quality management at large financial institutions. Whilst working at Paladyne, Vlad designed and built the company’s Enterprise Reference Data Services solution. After the acquisition of Paladyne by Broadridge, he architected the core Broadridge Managed Data Service Platform offering. Vlad has proven subject matter expertise in enterprise data strategy, big data technology and cloud-native architecture design.

 

Brian Sentance – Head of EMEA

Brian heads up the EMEA office of Datasynthesis, based in London. He has worked in financial markets technology for over 30 years, starting his career in the equity derivatives group of JPMorgan London in 1993 after completing his PhD at Imperial College. He was one of the founders of Xenomorph Software, a data management solutions provider and subsequently exited the company in 2018. Brian was a member of the Steering Committee of PRMIA whilst working in New York. He was selected by Institutional Investor as a member of their finance industry Tech 50 in both 2015 and 2016. He has extensive knowledge of data and analytics technology and has spoken at many industry events globally.

 

Eb Gaines – Head of Business Development

Eb joined Datasynthesis in 2020 and heads up business development. He has spent the past two decades raising capital for start-ups and hedge funds. He has traded equities and derivatives on both the buy-side and sell-side in the event-driven and volatility spaces with licenses – Series 4, 24, 7 and 63. He founded Middle Fork Partners in 2003 to assist hedge fund managers with implementing derivative strategies as well as marketing to institutions in Asia, Europe and the United States. Prior to that, he was a Director at ABN AMRO responsible for global hedge fund distribution. He also worked for International Management Group (IMG) in production and business development across Australia.

 

Dragan Rakovich – Head of Strategy

Dragan Rakovich heads up strategy and strategic relationships for DataSynthesis.  A senior Information Technology executive with over 30 years of experience, he has been both an entrepreneur and executive in high-tech business. He brings strategic advice and thought leadership in business development and product strategy with a focus on leveraging data, AI, and analytics technology advancements for transformative business solutions and growth and on enabling enterprises to reinvent their data, AI, and analytics strategy and portfolio.  More recently, Dragan was the Worldwide CTO for Data and AI and Distinguished Technologist at DXC. He previously has also held leadership roles at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Hewlett Packard, Teradata, Infostream Technologies, Sybase, PHH, and Deloitte.
